Glom Of Nit

Glom of Nit is the newsletter of Marc Burrows, the author, critic, musician and comic based in London, UK. Who is also writing this and feeling uncomfortable about doing so much in the third person. Here you will find occasional (hopefully monthly) updates with links to articles I’ve written*, rants about the world, recommendations and excerpts from books I’m working in. And also shameless plugging of books and shows, because capitalism demands it.

Who is Marc Burrows

Marc Burrows** is an author, critic, musician and comic from London. He writes on culture and social issues for The Guardian, New Statesman, Big Issue and Independent and has self-produced four full-length solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, with 2014’s ‘The Ten Best Songs of All Time’ and 2017’s ‘Mind Your Head’ garnering four star reviews. He also makes regular appearances at conventions and festivals in the UK and US. His first biography, The Magic of Terry Pratchett, won the prestigious Locus Award for best non fiction in 2021, and his 2022 book The London Boys, about the early career and friendship of David Bowie and Marc Bolan, has garnered rave reviews. The book is in the early stages of being adapted into a feature-length documentary. Outside of writing and comedy, Marc performs in the cult punk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, alongside fellow comic Andrew O’Neill and has recorded four albums and toured extensively in the UK and US, playing Download, Glastonbury, Bestival and Latitude festivals in the process. He also fronts his own band, Before Victoria. Though he is a cis man, transphobes absolutely hate him.
